At Disney Interactive, I was an Art Director on Epic Mickey, an award-winning action-adventure title known for its unique visual style. I supported several areas of the game's visuals, but primarily focused on the Visual Effects team. Helping them with ideas, concepts, daily feedback and inspiration.
The artwork below shows my concepts for Mickey’s “Guardian” spirits. Mickey used his Guardian powers to restore the world to it's original, colorful state.

The following designs were for the "Turp" guardians (which removed paint from the world). They weren't used in the final product, but I liked the creepier approach. I wanted the Turp guardians to look bubbly and infectious. Full of chaotic energy with a darker vibe.

Additional designs exploring wispy, ink-in-water creatures. I wanted their energy to feel jittery and sporadic. Unsettling and dangerous.

This design was too creepy for Disney, but I really wanted to see him drip out of the shadows and give you nightmares.
